Lonely Planet names Wanaka in Top 10

Wanaka has been named as one of the Top 10 Regions to visit in the world by Lonely Planet. 

As part of the Southern Lakes area, Wanaka is ranked against regions such as Hvar in Croatia, and La Ruta Maya in Central America, to name but a few.

Wanaka is renowned for its contrasting seasons. One of the most vibrant seasons would have to be spring.  After a long, cold and snowy winter the days warm up, they are longer and the region bursts into life.

Spring gives way to summer and so whether you are arranging a visit to New Zealand for the coming summer, autumn or even winter 2012 there are plenty of reasons to stay in Wanaka.
