Children & Extra Guests
The Lodge are reluctant to accept children under 12 (as there are no babysitting facilities) unless they are accompanied by a care-giver/nanny or a child over 14 who will take over that responsibility. On this basis, children will be accepted with adults at the following rates: An infant in a cot (under two years old) in its parents' room will be free of charge. A child on a rollaway in its parents' room will be charged 50% of the adult share twin rate. This option is only available in the Grasmere Suite. Children in their own room, of any age, will be charged the appropriate adult tariff (share twin or single). Dining for a family can be offered in a separate room, ensuring peace and quite for other adult guests. The pre-dinner drinks area is for adults only, but an unsupervised children's entertainment service can be provided during this time if required.

A surcharge of $NZ 235.00 + GST p.p. applies on Christmas Day. No arrivals or departures on this day.

Rates include: pre-dinner New Zealand wine-tasting and canap?s, four-course dinner plus coffee/tea, full cooked or continental breakfast, coffee and tea available at any time. Rooms also have complimentary tea and freshly ground coffee, home-baked cookies and port.

Booking conditions:
Credit card number and deposit equivalent to the first night's stay to guarantee reservation.

Getting There
Own / Rental Car:
A rental car, or your own vehicle, gives you freedom of movement and flexibility, as well as a nice pace to enjoy the legendary scenery. In this case you may like to use our driving directions.
Flying: You may choose to fly in, by light plane or helicopter from one of our sister lodges, or from Christchurch or another city.
Train: Free transfers are provided from the TranzAlpine Express Train (pick-up at Cass) by prior arrangement. The train ride goes between Christchurch and Greymouth is said to be one of the six best train excursions in the world.
Limousine: Alternatively we can arrange a limo transfer between Grasmere and Christchurch at a time to suit you. We use a reputable and reliable firm with quality cars and nice drivers. Please enquire at time of booking for a rate.

Car Parking
Ample parking is provided at The Lodge.

Cancellation Policy
25% charge for each room night cancelled within 30 days of stay, 100% within seven days and for no-shows, in line with New Zealand Lodge Association policy. We recommend you have a comprehensive travel insurance policy so you are covered in the event of loss of deposit or holiday payment through cancellation, as well as for personal baggage and loss of money.
