Location
Hawthorne Country House is located in the North Island of New Zealand in the heart of the Hawke's Bay wine country. We’re about a 5 minute drive from both Hastings and Havelock North, as well as some of the region’s finest golf courses and wineries.

Due to the size and nature of Hawthorne Country House we regret that we are unable to accept bookings for guests under the age of 15.
Getting There
You can find us on Railway Road South, 6 kms south of Hastings. Following the railway line out of Hastings City on Railway Road you pass through the Longlands Road intersection. We are 2 km south of the Longlands Road intersection on the right hand side. Coming from Havelock North, leave the village on Te Aute Road. As you cross the railway line at the Longlands / Railway Road intersection, turn left and we’re about 2km up the road
If you’re travelling from the North, come passed the airport, following signs to State Highway 2 (2b) to Wellington / Hastings. Stay on this Expressway until you get to Bridge Pa roundabout, at which point you turn left down Longlands Road (signposted ‘Havelock North’, 2nd exit). At the next crossroads, turn right onto Railway Road – we’re 2.2km along on the right hand side.
From the South (Wellington), approach Hawke’s Bay on State Highway 2. Where the road braches, indicating State Highway 50A to Napier, continue on SH2 signposted to Hastings. We’re 1.2km passed the junction on the left.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation: Due to our intimate size, cancellations affect us significantly. A 25% charge of the booking value will be made for any reservation cancelled within 30 days of the expected arrival date. A 75% charge of the booking value will be made for bookings cancelled within 10 days of expected arrival and a 100% charge of the total booking value will be made for cancellations made within 1 day of expected arrival or for no-shows. The penalties will not be applied if we are able to replace your booking. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
