Tranz Alpine

The Tranz Scenic offers a variety of train journeys through out New Zealand. The TranzAlpine travelling from Christchurch to Greymouth, rated one of the world's great scenic railway journeys! No matter which one (or more) you choose you will see some of New Zealands finest scenery.
The TranzAlpine scenic train journey travels between Christchurch and Greymouth, from one coast of New Zealand to the other. From your carriage you'll see the fields of the Canterbury Plains and farmland, followed by the spectacular gorges and river valleys of the Waimakariri River. Your train then climbs into the Southern Alps before descending through lush beech rain forest to the West Coast town of Greymouth ? a great base for visits to Punakaiki and the always popular glaciers.
The trip is 223.8 kilometres long and takes just four and a half hours. There are 19 tunnels, and 4 viaducts, the highest being the Staircase standing at 73 metres.

Rates quoted are in New Zealand dollars $NZ and are inclusive of GST.
Child Policy: Child rates 2 - 14 years inclusive. Infants (under 2 years) travel free of charge if they are seated on an adult's knee. The child rate applies if an infant requires a seat. PLEASE NOTE: All services are closed on 25th December (Christmas Day).

Cancellation Policy
For cancelled bookings, no shows and amendments the following charges will apply: Booking cancelled or amended outside 14 days - no fee, within 14-7 days prior to departure - 25% charge, within 7-2 days prior to departure - 50% charge, less than 48 hours prior to departure - 100% charge. No show will incur a 100% charge.
