Wilderness Lodge at Arthur's Pass

The Wilderness Lodge at Arthur's Pass is a 3000 hectare property, surrounded by National Park in the heart of the Southern Alps on the South Island of New Zealand.
Please note that Wilderness Lodge is closed for June & July.

Location
Wilderness Lodge Arthur's Pass is on Highway 73, the scenic mountain highway linking Christchurch and the West Coast. The Lodge is 16km east of Arthur's Pass township.

Children & Extra Guests
Rates quoted in New Zealand dollars ($NZ) per person, per night and inclusive of 15% GST.
Child rates: (2-12 years) half adult rate when sharing a room with two adults.
Christmas Day, Boxing Day (December 26), New Years Day and January 2, Good Friday and Easter Monday: A surcharge of $NZ 100 per person will be applied to these days. Recommended Minimum Stay: 2 to 3 nights
The Lodge is happy to accept guests for one-night stays although visitors normally stay at the Lodge a minimum of 2-3 nights. This enables you to relax and enjoy all our high country activities, walks and our stunning natural setting. If you are unable to stay 2 nights we should remind you that the rooms are not normally ready until 2.00pm and that on the day of departure checkout time is 10.30am. Where guests wish to stay at the Lodge until the late afternoon (4.00pm) Tranz Alpine Train, a day fee of $NZ 75 per person is charged. This charge is waived if you stay 2 or more nights. The Lodge generally require's a 2 night minimum stay for guests arriving between the dates of 20 December to 1 March.
Transfers from the Tranz Alpine Train at Arthur's Pass (16km from the Lodge), which includes a nature/history tour, are available at $NZ 35 per person each way.

Rates are inclusive of:
- Accommodation - 20 Mountain View rooms have a queen size bed and a single bed, private bathroom, sunny views overlooking the Waimakariri valley and mountain peaks, tea/coffee making facilities, fresh fruit and flowers, and are serviced daily.
4 Alpine Lodge rooms are in a secluded clearing. They are larger, have super-King beds, spa bath, fire, privacy and stunning views.
- Restaurant Dinner ? The dinner menu changes daily and offers several choices. Meals feature the best of New Zealand's fresh fish, meats, fruits and vegetables prepared by the Lodge Chef. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements are catered for with prior notice.
- Full Breakfast - enjoy a magnificent continental and home style cooked breakfast served in our restaurant while you watch the sun light up the snow on the Southern Alps.
- Guided Nature and Farm Activities ? you are invited to join the complimentary daily guided programme which is varied each day. This consists of two shorter guided activities (1 to 1.5 hours) from the following list. A beech forest and native birdlife guided walk, a guided walk through wetlands, tussock grassland and unique thorn forest, farm discovery tours, merino sheep shearing, historical evenings and Southern Cross Night Sky walks.
- Nature Trails, Running Tracks and Farm Access - all guests have free access throughout the 2400 hectare Lodge property. This includes a network of self-guided nature walks (Rainbow Valley Nature Walk, Broad Stream Gorge Walk, McKay's Moa Forest & Wild Boar Hill Walk), and access to mountains and trout fishing waters. Guests can explore the farm, meet the tame sheep, visit the historic shearing shed and participate in the day's activities on the farm.

Getting There
- The Lodge is between Christchurch (130km East) and Greymouth (130km West) on Highway 73.
- The Tranz Alpine Train links Christchurch and Greymouth and stops at Arthur's Pass Station 16 km from the station. Transfers are available
- A range of shuttle buses stop at the Lodge (Coast to Coast, Atomic shuttle).
- The lodge is 16km on the Christchurch side of Arthur's Pass Village on Highway 73. It is an easy days drive from the Glaciers, Kaikoura and Mount Cook and a longer days drive from Lake Moeraki, Nelson and Blenheim.

Ample car parking is available at the Lodge.

Cancellation Policy
Deposit and Cancellation Policies :
Deposit and Cancellation Policy: - A deposit of 25% is required, however we do not charge this unless you are required to cancel rooms inside the minimum period (45 days). Full tariff is payable if cancellation is made within 7 days of arrival. We recommend clients have a comprehensive travel insurance policy so you are covered in the event of loss of deposit or holiday payment through cancellation, as well as for personal belongings and health.
