Location
The Marlborough Sounds describes an area at the top of the South Island of New Zealand, featuring an intricate series of native bush-clad bays and coves sheltered from the open sea. Within the Marlborough Sounds is the seaside township of Picton, the access port to all interisland ferry services from Wellington. Bay of Many Coves Resort lies just 30 minutes north of Picton. There are no roads in or out of the resort.

A Tranz Scenic train journey offers panoramic views, reclining seating and fully licensed buffet car. The Coastal Express takes you from Christchurch to the port of Picton via the Kaikoura Coast. This service connects with your 30 minute cruise to the resort.
