Kapitea Ridge is ideally located for guests to enjoy both the solitude and splendor of the West Coast's natural environment, and to delight in the local arts and crafts, cafes and entertainment. It's an easy 20 minutes drive from Hokitika or Greymouth to our luxury lodge at Kapitea Ridge. "Kapitea is a stream that lies between the Taramakau and Arahura rivers. It was and remains today a source of high quality pounamu that was easily accessible and located some four miles south of the Taramakau Kainga - the main manufacturing Kainga of Ngati Waewae in the early decades of the 19th century."

Getting There State Highway 6 between Hokitika and Greymouth. 17km north of Hokitika and 23 km south of Greymouth. 5km south of Kumara Junction. Turn into Chesterfield Road, crossing the rail line. At the top of the hill turn left into the stonewalled entrance (signposted) driveway to Kapitea Ridge. Approx 1.2km from highway. Transfers from Greymouth train station or Hokitika or Greymouth airports are available (extra cost).

Cancellation Policy
A deposit equivalent to 25% of quoted tariff is payable to confirm any reservation. In the event of cancellations recieved within 30 days of arrival, a 25% cancellation fee applies of quoted tariff. Within 20 days of arrival a 50% cancellation fee applies of quoted tariff. Within 10 days of arrival, a 100% cancellation fee of quoted tariff will apply. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
Montagu Room: This spacious room captures unsurpassed panoramic views of the Tasman seascapes, sunsets and sunrises. Opening onto a spacious private balcony which protrudes out from the lodge over the gardens - the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a days driving and activities. Super king (or twin beds by prior arrival request) are complimented with stylish lounge chairs for total relaxation. Seaside décor with voile drapes and different colour schemes make each room a special place. A complimentary selection of teas, coffee, port and treats awaits for your enjoyment. Ensuite has heated tile floors, de-misting mirrors, detailed glass tile wall features, power showers of rain collected water. Rate based on single or double occupancy and includes breakfast.

Garden & Heritage Rooms: The curved architecture of the lodge is a feature of each of these rooms, capturing - sunset or sunrise, garden or forest views. 'Superior' rooms are individual in design and have one of the following characteristics - patio or heritage bath. One ground floor room also has total mobility facilities with direct access to private patio and garden. King or Queen beds - (twin beds are available on prior request). Ensuites with heated towel racks, de-misting mirrors, power shower or bath. Rate based on single or double occupancy and includes breakfast.
