Cancellation Policy
BOOKING PROCEDURE: Reservation: In order to confirm a reservation, we require a deposit of 25% of the total stay, or a current credit card number (with expiry date) to guarantee the booking. We levy a 25% charge of the total stay to the credit card 30 days prior to arrival. Cancellation: In the event that we are unable to replace a cancelled booking, the following applies: 25% of total cost of stay - 30-8 days prior 100% for each room night for cancellations recevied within 7 days of arrival.
Chateau Wellington is a 4,600 square foot fully furnished two-bedroom house offering the ultimate in privacy and luxury with spectacular views of Palliser Bay. All two bedrooms have a queen-sized bed, ensuite bathroom with separate shower and claw foot bath, gas fireplace and air-conditioning. The house has a large open plan living area with gas fireplace, full kitchen and dining area. Fully air-conditioned, the house is located just 1 km from Wharekauhau Lodge. Own transportation is recommended. House guests have full access to the Lodge, recreation facilities and exclusive tours and activities. Inclusions: Four course gourmet dinner on your first night of your stay; pre-dinner drinks and canapes, full breakfast at the lodge. Complimentary non-alcoholic bar, tea and coffee, homemade cookies, fresh fruit and twice daily servicing provided. Chateau Wellington can be booked a maximum of six months in advance. Minimum stay of 3 nights is required. Christmas Day and New Year's Eve surcharge applies. Rates are subject to confirmation at the time of booking. Rates are based on 1-4 persons.

Natural materials are used throughout the guest suites, including clay tiles, pebble mosaics, plastered walls, rich New Zealand wool carpeting, cotton bed linen and hemp curtains. Each suite has a super king sized four poster bed, open fireplace, under floor heating, deep sofas, a fully stocked bar, and dressing room with full length mirror. In keeping with the peace which surrounds Wharekauhau, guests can choose to leave the outside world behind for a while. However, we are happy to equip guests’ suites with television, daily newspapers, and radio on request. Wharekauhau also offers Internet access and conference calling facilities should guests require them. Luxury accommodation at Wharekauhau is provided in a Security/Escort Room for the exclusive use for nannies, drivers, security guards etc, when booked with another cottage. Natural materials are used throughout the rooms, including clay tiles, pebble mosaics, plastered walls, rich New Zealand wool carpeting, cotton bed linen and hemp curtains. The Security/Escort Room has a super king sized four poster bed, under floor heating, a fully stocked bar, and dressing room with full length mirror. This room has similar furnishings to the Cottage Suites but without the lounge area, open fire or writing desk. It has ensuite facilities with a shower only, no bath. This room is also suitable for guests with limited mobility. Inclusions: Superb gourmet dinner on your first night of your stay; pre-dinner drinks and canapes, full breakfast at the lodge. Complimentary non-alcoholic bar, tea and coffee, homemade cookies, fresh fruit and twice daily servicing provided. Rooms can be booked a maximum of six months in advance. Wharepapa Cottage is a three-bedroom cottage with unparalleled views of Palliser Bay. Two double and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms with separate bath and shower, open plan living area with gas fireplace, underfloor heating, laundry, full kitchen and dining area. Wharepapa Cottage is located just 4 km from Wharekauhau Lodge. Own transportation is recommended. Inclusions: Cottage guests have full access to the Lodge, recreation facilities and exclusive tours and activities. Complimentary non-alcoholic bar, tea and coffee, home made cookies and basic breakfast items (fruit, cereal, fruit juice, milk, bread, butter, spreads etc.) provided. Meals are not included however a superb gourmet dinner and cocktail hour is available from the lodge at an additional cost. 48 hours notice should be given if meals are required. Wharepapa cottage is serviced on a weekly basis. Minimum stay of 3 nights is required. Christmas Day and New Year's Eve surcharge applies.
